"Gorska ruža" and the food festival

Udruženje žena “Gorska ruža” (“Mountain Rose”) is the women’s association of Rakovac. Every year it organises the festival of food and good taste “Al’ se nekad dobro jelo baš!” (“How well we used to eat!”), supported by the municipality of Beočin and the provincial government. The 13th festival was held in October 2023 with 25 exhibitors from all over Vojvodina.

At the stalls you can buy homemade cakes and pastries, wine, rakija, cheeses and honey, crafts and art. Villagers cook sarma, bean stew and fish, a tamburica band plays, and there is a workshop where visitors can bake traditional kiflice.
