Treasure hunt: five treasures of Rakovac

The stone pillars. At Beli Majdan, the roof of a huge hall rests on pillars of stone that the quarrymen left standing. How many can you count from the entrance?
The stonecutters’ marks. Look closely at the walls of Beli Majdan: you can still see the marks of the tools that cut the stone.
The bell tower. The monastery bell tower was built in 1735. Find it through the trees on your walk.
The year in the rock. At the Hermitage, a monk called Isaija carved his name into the stone in 1771. Can you find a year carved in the rock? (A long walk: about 1 hour from the monastery.)
The waterfall. Walk to the Dumbovac waterfall. Can you hear it before you see it? (For good walkers, 8 years and up.)

For parents

Look into Beli Majdan from the entrance only: going inside is allowed only with a national park ranger, because stones can fall. Hold small children by the hand on the steep track and on the steps above the hall.
