rakovac.rs is an independent, unofficial guide to the village of Rakovac on Fruška Gora, made by people who live here.
Who is behind the site
The site is a volunteer project from Rakovac, made by Konstantin (Kosta) Stein together with Claude, an AI model by Anthropic. See About the author. It is not an official website of the Municipality of Beočin, the local community office, Rakovac Monastery or Fruška Gora National Park.
How we check facts
Every factual statement comes from a published source, from an inscription we have photographed, or from a named local witness. We keep a fact log with the source of each statement. Where sources disagree we say so on the page. Business details are marked “not yet confirmed by the owner” until the owner has checked them.

Local journalism
We record interviews with residents: memories of the village, the monastery, the quarry and the war years. Every interview is published only with the speaker’s consent. See People.
Privacy
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Videos are loaded from YouTube only after you press play. The maps load map tiles from OpenStreetMap servers.
Licence
Texts on this site are published under CC BY 4.0: you may reuse them, including commercially, if you credit rakovac.rs with a link. Our own photos, videos and interviews are not covered: all rights reserved. Photos from other authors keep their own licences, listed below. The site’s source code is MIT-licensed.
Languages
The site is available in five languages: Serbian, English, Russian, German and Hungarian. Texts are written in English and translated with the help of Claude (Anthropic); corrections from native speakers are very welcome.
